This event features Dr. Matthias J. Kannwischer from Chelpis- Quantum Safe Migration Center(QSMC), who is also a co-submitter of the UOV and MAYO signature schemes from NIST. He will share insights on how to utilise the existing open sources on the implementation of MLKEM (Kyber) and MLDSA (Dilithium) while designing the quantum safe products and also incorporate the hand-on exercise into the course.
We have also invited Mr. CHAO YI YU , general manager of Ruiting Tech, who will share with us how to apply post-quantum crytography into development of quantum safe products from industrial perspective.

"Workshop on MLKEM and MLDSA Implementations"
In July 2022, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced the first set of post-quantum schemes to be standardized: MLKEM (Kyber), MLDSA (Dilithium), FNDSA (Falcon), and SLHDSA (SPHINCS+). Official standards for MLKEM, MLDSA, and SLHDSA are expected to be published in summer 2024.
This tutorial covers the implementation of the lattice-based key-encapsulation mechanism MLKEM (Kyber) and the digital signature scheme MLDSA (Dilithium).
It will introduce the core construction of the schemes and survey existing open-source implementations. For participants interested in hand-on implementations, the tutorial contains a deep dive into essential implementation techniques.
This will cover number-theoretic transforms, Montgomery multiplication, Barrett multiplication, and Plantard multiplication. I will present how these techniques can be used to obtain fast implementations on both low-end Arm microcontrollers, as well as high-end Arm
processors supporting the Neon vector instructions. Participants then have the opportunity to implement their own number-theoretic transforms for Kyber and Dilithium using Arm Cortex-M4 assembly. Instructions will be provided to functionally test the implementations on an Arm Cortex-M4 emulated using qemu emulator.
Speaker: Matthias is an expert in quantum safe cryptography and has served as a postdoc researcher at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica. He is a co-submitter of the UOV and MAYO signature schemes which have participated in the NIST PQC digital-signature competition. He has also been a co-submitter of the Rainbow signature scheme which as a finalist in the NIST PQC Project With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the international security research domain, Matthias will strengthen the academic research and industrial applications of the Quantum Safe Migration Center in the future.
